Specialized Services or Behaviour/Developmental Support Services
- Assist with the development of Individualized Service Programs (ISP)
- Can provide coordination services for families accessing Specialized Services
- Collaboration with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Schools, and other service providers
- Participation in team meetings to discuss goal progress and next steps
- Conduct Functional Behaviour Analysis assessments (FBA)
- Data collection and analysis of treatment plans
- Regular consultation and monitoring of program goals
- Training and coaching for behaviour aides, support staff, and parents in using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Research supports ABA as an effective evidence based teaching technique for children diagnosed with an ASD. Training includes turn taking (joint attention), functional communication (Milieu), social skills, play, and self help.
- Use of a variety of social curriculum to foster social communication and social skills
- Creating visuals and other program materials as needed
